Facts about the customer

The Cube brand was founded in 1993 in Waldershof in the Fichtelgebirge. To this day, the bicycle manufacturer is owner-managed and has always remained true to its location in the Upper Palatinate, despite its steadily growing international success in over 70 countries.

The company's product range is extremely diverse. It currently includes almost all bike and e-bike product types as well as an extensive collection of clothing and accessories. With more than 4.000 bikes produced per day, Cube brings more than 1 million bikes to retailers worldwide every year.

The challenge

To complement retail sales, Cube wanted to address end consumers directly with a user-centred e-commerce platform.

Our solution

elio developed a customised e-catalogue for Cube based on Shopware 6. In addition to a modern and user-friendly UX design and specially developed templates, customised CMS elements were implemented that are globally available, reusable and configurable. These elements, such as product badges, are displayed on the product detail pages using intelligent feature mapping, allowing Cube to present its products in a targeted and efficient manner.

A particular challenge was the implementation of IP-based localisation, which automatically redirects visitors to the correct language and currency, as well as a country-specific item restriction, which makes it possible to control the product range specifically by country.

In addition, a store finder was developed that integrates Google Maps and processes data from CubeConnect (Cube's own data system) and an external tool to display both direct retailers and distributors.

elio has also created a seamless interface to the internal ERP system and set up a press area based on experience worlds and categories. An FAQ system and a requirement-specific product comparison round off the user experience-orientated solution.
