Accessibility Audit

Stricter requirements for digital accessibility will apply from 2025. With our accessibility audit, we check whether your digital offerings - from websites to other online services - are accessible and show you what measures are still required. This ensures you remain legally compliant and make your services accessible to everyone.

Why you need an accessibility audit now

From June 2025, operators of online services must ensure that their websites, online shops, web applications and other online services are also easily accessible for people with sensory or motor impairments in accordance with the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG). This includes, among other things, adjustments to the design and functionality so that texts are easier to read or can be read aloud to enable people with visual impairments to shop easily or use other online services. In principle, every person should be able to use at least two senses to access information and services available online.

Those who act now will secure a clear competitive advantage and long-term success.

*A layout comprises the areas header, footer, navigation, service navigation, breadcrumb, sidebar, search bar and exclusive main content. The main content is represented by page templates. Using the online shop as an example, six page templates can be the start page, product lists / category lists, search results page including dynamic filters, a product detail page layout, account area overview and checkout. This includes dynamic and interactive elements such as call-to-actions, simple forms, banner sliders or simple overlays. An e-commerce checkout is a special case. Checkout processes usually consist of several page templates, which are included up to a maximum of three sub-page templates. Other page templates can be additional special content pages or functional components, such as wish lists, watch lists, comparison functions, maps, a blog function, various forms, customised self-service pages, checkout pages that deviate from the contextual standard, as well as extensive or complex modal windows.

We would like to point out that content checks within the meaning of the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) are not part of our audit. This includes, for example, analysing texts with regard to the use of unexplained abbreviations, technical terms or foreign words.
